It’s Good Divorce Week (29 November – 3 December 2021) and time to focus on children within families that are separating.
Good Divorce Week is an initiative established by Resolution, a community of 6,500 family law professionals who are committed to a constructive approach to resolving family issues, of which the lawyers in this Firm are proud members.
Each year, Resolution uses Good Divorce Week to raise awareness of issues that are close to the hearts of its members. This year, Resolution wants a national conversation about how parents can embrace a child-focused approach to separation. We know that the children of parents who separate can find the experience one of the most challenging of their lives and that it can impact them well into adulthood. Resolution is committed to ensuring that there is as much support and advice for parents to help them put their children first, so they may constructively move forward with their parenting journey together.
Resolution is therefore launching their free Parenting Through Separation Guide, which contains practical information, advice and support to help parents in their parenting journey through separation, divorce and beyond. The guide also includes advice for parents as to how to manage issues with their children in an age-appropriate way, together with a list of resources that are available for parents and their children.
Juliet Harvey, national chair of Resolution said, “Resolution members do really important work in their community to help families separate in a constructive and amicable way. The more families who know about and use the free Parenting Through Separation Guide, the better equipped they will be to navigate the challenges divorce and separation brings, particularly when it comes to putting children first.”
The guide is aimed at parents who are contemplating separating, have recently separated or have been separated for some time. There is information in the guide that should help anyone on their cooperative parenting journey.
